This interview with Rich was published a couple years ago, but like any good art book, the words and many, many images are worth returning to again and again for their inspiration. Go ahead and take your time scrolling down the page and soak it all in!
Rich has a very personal way of creating images that are loose and whimsical while also being finely-tuned to the ultimate level of flawless craftsmanship. His final art rarely seems to have lost any of the energy of the first flurry of lines created in the dreaming and plotting phase. He is a wonderful reminder that spending hours on a drawing does not mean it needs to become stuffy and lifeless.
